Further, the City Council approved over 20 positions within the Department of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) to support the Social Equity Program, licensing and compliance programs, and other functions related to regulating cannabis businesses within the City. This follows a motion co-introduced by Councilman Price that asked DCR to explore ways to ensure more equity in the licensing process following complaints that minority and woman-owned cannabis businesses were not getting a fair shot at licenses within the City.
