A historic celebration is coming to the heart of South Central! Councilmember Price and Happy Group are bringing the community together for the very first Latino Carnaval — a free, family-friendly festival taking over five blocks at South Park Recreation Center on Oct. 11, from 1–10 p.m. The celebration will close out Latino Heritage Month with a day of music, food, culture, and community pride.
Headliners include La Original Banda El Limón (celebrating 60 years) and Banda Maguey (celebrating 30 years), joined by Baby Bash, Frankie J, Oro Sólido, Nina Sky, Amanda Perez, Paula DeAnda, Sonora Dinamita, and more.
Families can look forward to Lucha Libre wrestling, a Ferris wheel and carnival rides, kids’ activities, sports, local food and arts vendors, and over 100 community resource booths.
Councilmember Price will present La Original Banda El Limón with a proclamation declaring their very own day in recognition of six decades of iconic music.
