The City Council voted to approve a joint report from the Public Works and Budget, Finance and Innovation Committees establishing the Reinvestment in Accessibility, Infrastructure, and Streetscape Enhancements for Los Angeles (RAISE LA) ordinance. This ordinance creates a dedicated fund that invests into transportation amenities such as bus shelters and shades, as well as street infrastructure like broken sidewalks and resurfacing. As the City takes giant leaps to increase public transportation by making it more accessible and affordable, this fund will help enhance the experience of transit riders by protecting them from extreme heat and more. Additionally, the funds used to stream RAISE LA will come the City’s new Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP) advertising revenue. To learn more about RAISE LA, please click here.
