Councilmember Curren Price has announced $3.3 million in community grants to 175 organizations serving South Central Los Angeles, bringing the total investment through his Community Grant Program to more than $8 million since 2022.
This year’s funding cycle drew nearly 600 applications, three times the number received during the program’s first round, underscoring the overwhelming demand for resources among local nonprofits and community groups. A review panel that included representatives from the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD), the program’s grant administrator, helped select the final recipients.
Launched in 2022, the program initially awarded $5 million to approximately 100 organizations. As Price prepares to conclude his City Council term in December, this latest round of funding will help neighborhood organizations continue providing essential programs and services to South LA families and residents.
