The LA City Council approved the continuance of the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration initiated by Mayor Garcetti in 2020. With the recent increases of the daily positivity rates of COVID-19 (16.6 percent as of July 28), it is imperative that the City keeps its guard up against the virus and the damage it continues to cause. Council has also requested a report back from the Housing Department to determine the most appropriate way to protect renters once the order is lifted.
