As cases and fatalities due to Covid-19 have decreased, the Los Angeles City Council voted to end the March 4, 2020 Declaration of Local Emergency on Jan. 31, 2023. The eviction protections that are tied to the Local Emergency will end at the end of the month but only as it relates to said Local Emergency. City Council is looking to expand and have hearings on enacting a set of tenant protections in the upcoming weeks. To see the Mayor’s notice, click here.
