The LA City Council has directed the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA), the Community Investment for Families Department (CIFD), the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL), the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and the City Attorney's Office, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office, to report on departmental efforts to provide information about immigration-related rights to residents of Los Angeles.

The report will address how departmental programs align with best practices, such as the Attorney General's model guidance for libraries, and will focus on key issues including Fourth Amendment protections, sanctuary ordinances, fraud prevention, non-discrimination, and coordination with civil rights groups. Additionally, the report will explore how City facilities can be utilized to inform residents, strategies for distributing information at key locations, and the resources needed for further outreach and coordination across City and County departments.
