Dear Neighbors,
We don’t need headlines to tell us what we see every day in our neighborhoods. Groceries cost more. Rent is higher. And with changes to programs like SNAP, many households are worrying about how to stretch what little they have.
Our District 9 community deserves a safety net that meets the moment so no one is left to navigate hardship alone. That’s why I introduced a motion this week to direct $200,000 in emergency support to low-income families and individuals in Council District 9.
This funding will be delivered through our FamilySource Center at All Peoples Community Center, a trusted place where our neighbors already go for stability and a hand up when they need it. The new investment by my Office will help expand access to food assistance, housing and rental support, case management, and other urgent services.
We’re in this together,
