On Aug. 2, throngs of Angelenos joined Team Price for a run/walk celebrating the $10 million transformation of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from the 110 Freeway to Central Avenue, highlighting health and wellness with the local club Keep It Run Hundred.

The community wide event showcased the project’s improvements in Council District 9, including new landscaped medians to calm traffic, more than 6,500 native trees and plants, upgraded sidewalks and ADA ramps, and bus stops with improved lighting and shelters.

The event also featured food trucks, music, and a resource fair that brought together several City departments and community partners. Participants connected with entities such as the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN), the Department of Transportation, and other local organizations including Play Equity, LA 28, and the Water Replenishment District (WRD). These partners provided a range of services and giveaways—from hydration stations for runners to games for kids, helpful resource materials, and even free basketballs and shoes for families!
