Dear Neighbors,
Hispanic Heritage Month is around the corner and our City of Angels is coming together to host a most remarkable fiesta– El Grito 2023, led by this year’s Madrina Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, commemorating Mexican Independence Day.
From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, we honor the rich traditions, diverse customs, stories and extraordinary impact Hispanic and Latinx communities have made, and continue to make, in shaping our society, through art, literature, music, science, and so much more.
This month-long celebration provides us with an opportunity to explore, share, and appreciate the diverse roots stemming from Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and beyond.
See you on Sept. 15 as we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month in LA with this annual public event, held on the historic steps of Los Angeles City Hall. Councilwoman Rodriguez and her team are putting together quite a show with live performances by Banda Machos, Las Colibrí, Las Cafeteras, and Banda Las Angelinas. The free event also includes vendors, food trucks, resources and more! For more information, click here.
With warm regards,
