The City Council approved a report from the Rules, Elections, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee appointing Heather Hutt to hold the Office of Council District 10 as a voting member. The decision came after weeks of local residents voicing their concerns around lack of representation and voting power created by the seat's vacancy. Councilwoman Hutt will remain in her position for as long as the temporary vacancy continues to exist, unless Mark Ridley-Thomas is acquitted or the charges against him are dismissed.
