The City Council unanimously approved to include the Hoffman Candy Company, located at 6600 S. Avalon Blvd., in the list of Historic-Cultural Monuments. Built in 1929, the Hoffman Company embodies the distinctive characteristics of a style, type, period, or method of construction as an excellent example of a daylight factory and an industrial building designed in the Art Deco architectural style. The Hoffman Candy Company was one of the earliest and longest operating family-owned candy companies in Los Angeles.
