On Wednesday, the Los Angeles City Council approved a report from the Energy, Climate Change, Environmental Justice, and River Committee that instructs the Bureau of Sanitation along with the City Attorney to report on resources needed to establish a robust illegal dumping enforcement and prosecution program. Additionally, the instructions for the report requested Sanitation and the City Attorney to look into how much staff, equipment, and office space would be required to provide a citywide program to install, maintain, and monitor cameras where illegal dumping is most prevalent.
