On Sept. 21, the historic Central Avenue corridor will come alive as tens of thousands of music lovers gather for the 29th Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival. Happening from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., this rich celebration of jazz will feature live performances, spotlighting the legacy of West Coast jazz.
The festival promises an impressive lineup, including the renowned GRAMMY-award winning John Beasley Big Band, acclaimed trumpeter Chief Adjuah, and the dynamic all-female salsa group Las Chikas. Global sensation Extra Ancestral, featuring Eduardo Palo Cuero, will also grace the stage, along with jazz luminaries Carmen Lundy and Charles McPherson.
This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the Arts Pavilion, showcasing impactful artwork from around the globe. Families will be able to enjoy a dedicated Kid Zone with arts and crafts, games, and other activities, while healthcare partners will offer free and confidential services, including dental screenings.
With limited parking available, attendees are encouraged to utilize Metro or rideshare options to ensure a smooth experience.
