On Thursday, during the Information, Technology, and General Services (ITGS) Committee meeting, Councilman Price heard a Department of General Services (GSD) report on a pilot project to provide free feminine hygiene products in restrooms in City-owned facilities. The pilot program will be ran through the Central Library and four other library branches in the City. During the report by GSD, Councilman Price questioned the representative from the Department asking why none of the libraries selected for the pilot were in South LA. From these questions and further discussion during the committee, GSD will add an additional pilot site that will be located at the Junipero Serra Branch Library in CD 9. Councilman Price was happy to learn about this decision as he felt it was important to get resources for his constituents, making this pilot more equitable.
