The Los Angeles City Council approved a proposed funding plan to use Measure ULA dollars to fund tenant protection programs including rental assistance and new construction of more affordable housing. This $150 million expenditure plan includes: short-term emergency assistance program that will allow low-income tenants apply for up to six months owed back rent; an eviction defense/prevention program that will provide legal services and community outreach; tenant outreach and education program; tenant harassment programs; rental subsidies and move-in assistance to low-income seniors and people with disabilities; and multifamily affordable housing development to increase affordable housing units.
