As part of District 9’s Black History Month series dedicated to celebrating African American leaders, Team Price is thrilled to spotlight one of LA’s courageous first responders. Police Officer Renetia James stands proudly as a member of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) program at Pueblo del Rio housing project.
Having graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Anthropology in May 2017, she embarked on a journey fueled by a profound desire to serve. Her path led her to the Police Academy in July 2017, where she took her first steps toward fulfilling her passion to give back to her community.
Officer James found her calling within the LAPD’s CSP bureau. Today, she is at the forefront of community engagement initiatives, orchestrating neighborhood cleanups and events, ensuring the safety of students as she escorts them to and from school, participating in sports activities with local children, and coordinating thrilling adventures such as beach days.
