The City Council approved an ordinance relative to establishing protections for freelance workers. The ordinance will include safeguards such as timely payment, record keeping, prohibiting retaliatory actions by a hiring entity, and a method to file a complaint or bring a civil action to enforce or recover damages for any alleged violation of the rules.
