On Friday, the Los Angeles City Council approved a motion that instructs the Bureau of Street Lighting (BSL) to report within 30 days on the neighborhoods that are the most affected by power outages and ensure that street lights impacted by theft are restored within seven days. The Committee report also instructs BSL to present a comprehensive strategy to prevent metal theft from occurring and ways to hold those who steal metal accountable.
