On Tuesday, Councilmember Price along with his colleague Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson co-presented a $50,000 reward motion for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the murder of 16-year-old Tioni Theus. Tragically, Tioni was found shot in the neck after drivers reported seeing her body along the southbound 110 Freeway in Los Angeles.
Tioni was a young woman who was just beginning her life, with all the possibilities ahead of her. This was ripped away in an instant. Her father said that her smile could brighten up an entire room and she will always be remembered for her infectious laughter. The reward motion was important as the community expressed that not enough was being done to bring justice for Tioni in comparison to the case of Brianna Kupfer. Click here for the reward motion.
