Councilman Price joined hundreds of community members along with the City of LA Department of Recreation and Parks, the Community Investment for Families Department, LAPD Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and special partners to unveil the newest features at South Park- one of LA’s oldest and most beloved parks.
This event in February celebrated the official opening of a new 50-yard synthetic football field, two baseball fields, three new scoreboards and new field lighting. During this momentous occasion, neighbors enjoyed a multitude of special treats including the chance to toss the football with LA Chargers great Derwin James, free eye exams and glasses courtesy of Oakley along with a resource fair, and free food.
Since 2015, we have put a lot of TLC into this community jewel and Team Price is thrilled to have reached another milestone. The latest park improvements are part of a more than $60 million investment to revitalize all of our parks across District 9.
