Dear Neighbors,
The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended a Red Flag Warning through tonight, Jan. 10, with the fire weather threat expected to continue and potential impacts anticipated throughout the weekend. These powerful winds, combined with multiple active fires devastating our beloved Los Angeles region, underscore the urgent danger our City is facing. Although Council District 9 is not currently in an evacuation zone, it is critical for all Angelenos to stay alert and exercise extreme caution during these challenging times.
Stay Informed and Report Issues
If you haven’t already, sign up for life-saving alerts through Notify LA to stay updated on critical developments. For real-time updates on active fire incidents, monitor LAFD Alerts.
Help keep our City safe by reporting damage to public spaces, such as fallen trees, downed wires, potholes, or street flooding, to LA City’s 311 Call Center. Residents can use the MyLA311 mobile app or call 3-1-1 for non-emergency City services and information.
Power Outages and Safety
Report power outages to the LA Department of Water and Power (LADWP) at 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397). Stay informed by checking the status of outages in your area at LADWP.com/Outages and signing up for outage alerts at ladwp.com/outagealert.
Important Reminder: Never touch a downed power line. If you encounter one, stay away and call 9-1-1.
Gratitude for Our Heroes
Amid ongoing warnings across our communities, Team Price would like to express our deepest gratitude to our first responders, leaders and departments at the federal, state and local levels who are at the forefront of our operations. As we navigate these trying times, it is our collective force and compassion for one another that will help carry us to the other side of this catastrophe.
This past week, we have witnessed glimmers of hope in the kindness of humanity, reflected in the bravery of our firefighters, police officers, and the quiet heroes who have stepped forward to show why Los Angeles is truly the City of Angels.
