Dear Neighbors,
Hundreds of District 9 residents and City workers came together at my District Office on Oct. 27 for Team Price’s annual Community and City Employee Appreciation Luncheon.
This cherished tradition honors the very heartbeat of South Central LA, from our courageous firefighters and dedicated police officers to the hardworking crews from the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN) and many other departments. We were also joined by community partners who are woven into the fabric of the CD 9 community, including Volunteers of America (VOA) and the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD), along with many of the families who make up our diverse neighborhoods.
No celebration is complete without great food, and our luncheon featured an array of local flavors. Guests enjoyed snow cones from Kool Kids, smoky barbecue from Bootsy’s BBQ, pizza from Buongiorno, soul food from Delicious at the Dunbar, classic hot dogs and hamburgers from Served 2 Enjoy, Mexican bites from Hi Johnny Catering, coffee from Café Calle, and desserts from the 27th Street Bakery.
While this event is only a small token of appreciation, it carries a significant message to residents and the City employees whose dedication keeps Council District 9 welcoming and thriving.
