Welcome to Council District 9, home to world-class destinations, including the iconic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Crypto.com Arena, BMO Stadium, and the renowned Exposition Park, which features the California Science Center, the California African American Museum (CAAM), and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

Since taking office in 2013, my primary focus has been to enhance the quality of life for all District 9 residents. I am committed to tackling crucial issues such as housing affordability, sustainability, and the improvement of our green spaces.

I am dedicated to advocating for fair wages and workers' rights, fostering economic growth, and creating a safer, cleaner environment for our South Central Los Angeles community. I also prioritize protecting our most vulnerable residents, including immigrant communities and our unhoused neighbors.
